Vision 1948

Vision 1948

Bringing gender parity back to tech

Our Mission

Bring gender parity back to tech by encouraging and empowering girls and women to pursue computing/technology education and careers through increased education and awareness, influencing workplace policies/practices and advocating positive media portrayal.

With the advent of Artificial Intelligence, it is more imperative than ever that there is gender parity in the technology workforce. The “smart” machines that are making life-impacting decisions must be designed and trained by a workforce that is equitably represented to prevent biases.

What We Do

Vision 1948 Education Pillar

Introduce school-aged girls, their parents/ guardians and the community at large to evolving technology concepts and careers.

We offer a rich set of demos, workshops and panel discussions for all ages.

Public Awareness

Increase awareness of key women who made impacts in Computer Science and Technology – then and now.

Visit our Trailblazer page.  You may also find us in your community as book/movie discussions on fascinating tech women in history.

Workplace Policy

Motivate companies to hire, retain and advance women in technology careers.

We have enabled the passing of an Illinois Act to form a task force to drive for an inclusive tech workforce.  We offer networking opportunities for like-minded professionals.
